The Bus Festival in West Jefferson
High Country Bus Festival is held more likely on a summer’s day during the last weekend of July. Considering that summer days are generally so scorching hot, this is a wonderful occurrence to make the most of the cool breeze high up in the mountain tops. However, it can get more chilly at night, so warm clothes are also a must! This event is more about gathering old and new friends together to embrace the spirit of camaraderie and just to have a fun and memorable weekend through camping in the outdoors. This camping event is generally held right at the New River in Crumpler, North Carolina.
Along the riverbank, a lot of people usually joins in on the fun. However, there are also a lot of camping essentials to be seen like the usual tents, the trailers, and some RVs. True to the camping motif, no meals were given so you either have to learn how to magically produce food out of thin air or just basically load up some food basics and make meals over the standard flames from wood! The event organizers usually contact local bands such as the Corduroy Commander to play music for the people. The musical genres being played are more of rock music, folk songs, and country music.
All along the camping area, there were more attractions to see aside from the usual scenery. What I’m making reference to are the camp sellers that provide a wide range of souvenirs and knick-knacks such as tie-dyed t-shirts, dreamcatchers and a lot of camping equipment.
Another is this thing called tubing down the river. With just a few bucks, you can plunge into the river in style with a big and yellow intertube. This fun activity is more remarkable if you are in a group of people or with your friends and family. After that, you can always get a Hawaiian shaved ice cream and just sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery that nature has to provide. Cellphone reception is pretty much shabby in the camping location so you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of social media and work and just enjoy the company of your loved ones and close pals.
The setting can also make you come to feel a little bit more associated with Mother nature herself! This camping activity is also a sure way to help your kids develop an engaging relationship with other people as the High Country Bus Festival is a kid-friendly event.
Thus, if you want to have a good time with your family and friends then don’t miss out on the next High Country Bus Festival!
